LOVE YOUR BODY Shea Butter Blend is the result of my personal journey in finding just the right blend of shea butter, mixed with other healthy oils, to create a whole body butter that can be used from your head to your heels.
I have long had interest in East, West, and Southern Africa. I have done volunteer service in Kenya with infants who were orphaned/abandoned, often because of devastating poverty; in Tanzania with a maternal and child health program serving families in rural villages with limited access to health care; collected books and school supplies for preschool and elementary students in Ghana which were gifted during a trip there with a group of friends. A trip with friends to South Africa was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
My journey to creating LOVE YOUR BODY has been a long and winding road inspired years ago by an encounter with a striking African woman selling shea butter in New Orleans’ French Quarters. She pulls me in with her big smile and shares the legacy of shea butter in Africa and its benefits for skin and hair. She pops a chuck in her mouth and tells me how it is also used in cooking. All these years later, her beautiful image lingers in my mind. And while I do not use shea butter for cooking, I use it over every inch of my body! My future vision is to source shea butter directly from a woman’s collective in West Africa.
My love for shea butter – blended with a select few healthful oils and the calming scent of lavender – has led us to meet along this beautiful journey. I know you will love LOVE YOUR BODY Shea Butter Blend as much as I do. I feel honored to share it with you!
Rooted in a love for West African Culture
SHEA BUTTER
Shea butter is extracted from the edible nut of the fruit from the Karite tree which grows naturally and in the wild in Ghana, Mali, Burkina Faso, and other Savanna Grasslands of West Africa.
Shea butter has been used historically in West Africa and beyond for cosmetic and therapeutic skin care. LOVE YOUR BODY is a blend of unrefined shea butter, coconut oil, olive oil, avocado oil, jojoba oil, sweet almond oil, and lavender oil. The mild and calming scent of lavender oil makes this product gender neutral. These gently blended oils have each been reported as having beneficial qualities for hair and skin.
